No audio at all, please help

I've recently put in an Asus M4A79XTD EVO board. I'm trying to use the onboard sound with it. When I first booted up the sound seemed to work. I proceeded to install the drivers, and then all of the sound stopped (backwards, I know). I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times and all different versions. I reformatted my windows twice with no luck (Win7 Ultimate 64 bit both times). Everything is plugged in, unmuted, service is running, enabled in the bios. When I have the drivers installed, the 3 devices it sees are HDMI (from my video card), SPDIF, and speakers. When they aren't installed, it removes the speakers. On the VIA dashboard it shows nothing plugged into either the front or back ports. I would love any input.

Just had a look at your board on the Asus site...apparently has some you beaut sound bullshit called Asus crystal sound..if you want to use it you need to download the latest drivers and also the latest BIOS in order to enable/use it....
Do you have this is enabled in the Bios? If so try disabling it...or alternatively flash your bios with the latest version and install the Latest driver...be easier if disabling it in the bios makes your sound work without the risk of flashing.

BTW if you do decide to flash your bios dont use the online method...it's risky unless your board also has a dual Bios .
