I have an old HP Pavilion dv9608nr and recently from time to time my Conexant audio device isn't detected by Windows & It doesn't even appear in Device Manager.
Things I've tried:
Scanning for hardware changes - No change
Trying to reinstalling the driver - No device detected
Using a Linux Distro Live CD - Works perfectly
Restarting the Audio Service - No change
SFC Scan - No change.
System Restore - No change

I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions other than reinstalling Windows?
