No audio in recorded or live TV

I have the gateway SX2850, Home Premium 64 bit, with a Homerun ATSC dual tuner. The audio is fine for any programs streaming online, but I cannot get audio on live or recorded TV. This happened suddenly. I watched a recorded show and it was fine. I tried to watch the same recording a second time and there is no audio. I must have done something, but I can't figure out what (I'm new to this). I ran the audio diagnostic/fix program, but it did not help. I do get Win 7 audio, just not when I try to watch recorded or live TV.

Related note, I also have Win 7 with a Hauppage 850. I get Video just fine but no audio. Already redid my Win 7 box once. Works and then boom, after a while it stops working. I'm thinking it has to be a microsoft patch that does this thing in.
