Solved No audio in the fron jack

Hello all. This is my first topic. I used the forum's hardware detecting too with success. Great software. And great community either. As I've see there are lots of people here with both high windows technical skill and will to help.

My issue: no audio in the front jack. I plug phones on it and I got no sound from any software or media at all.

Back jack is working fine.

I've seen many people posting here about this same issue but I could not find a solution regarding my system's specs.

Any help would be welcome.

You list "High Definition Audio Device" as the sound card which suggests all you have is the generic, basic function, Windows installed sound drivers instead of the correct motherboard vendor's sound drivers. If this is the case, the first thing to do is install the correct Biostar provided sound drivers.

Second, has the front panel mic jack ever worked? Can you plug in a mic to the rear Pink mic jack and will it work there? Is the front panel connection to the motherboard plugged in and correct? If the front panel connection has an HD Audio plug that should be used over the older AC 97 connection, as the HD Audio (with correct sound driver) has sensing that the AC97 does not have.

Since you have integrated sound then make sure you have the properties set properly within Windows Sound (Control Panel > Sound). You should see your speakers and maybe some other input devices. Check to see if your headphones are showing in their and if they're disabled/muted.

If they don't show then it may be something else. I know some motherboards you can disable the front ports, and even through some policy settings as well. Depending on your software check to see if the front panel is disabled.

You may also want to make sure that the front panel connectors are connected and you might find this thread helpful for that.

Have you tried another set of headphones to see if that may be the problem?

Are the cables from the case correctly connected to the motherboard? Sometimes they can come loose.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded and installed the proper drivers and it works just fine now. Thankfully there was no need to open my case, since I don't have a screwdriver with me.

It is a good idea to open the case once in a while and use compressed air to blow out any dust, especially around the CPU heatsink and any fans. This will help increase overall longevity of all your components, audio included.
