I had a hard drive go bad, so I had a new one installed and have updated all drivers from the ASUS site. I've had bluetooth running on this thing perfectly for a long time before hand.

Bluetooth settings are all enabled, and settings are set up to be discovered. There is no option to enable/disable bluetooth in my BIOS. Multiple devices can connect to each other, but not the computer. I have reset the devices themselves as well.

There is really no reason for it to not work. Device manager shows everything working properly.

I also am not getting any sound, and Directshow causes system crashes in DXdiag. The harddrive is from a reputable company, and I had them install it. Is there any chance that there were other hardware issues, that the computer just can't find?

Cheers

Asus g75VW, win7 64bit. put in a WD 224 SSD. Transferred 0 files over.

Also, bluetooth service is running. It's set to automatic. I installed the atheros driver from the ASUS site, since that's the hardware I have. I've checked for an answer for a couple days now, and thus the new thread. None of the many, many threads that I have looked at properly addresses my issue

Try booting with Linux Mint MATE DVD/USB and see if your devices (Bluetooth and sound) work with it.

replacing with Linux seems a little drastic doesn't it? I have a back up on an external, but I don't have a cd or anything. I suppose I'd be able to download a windows installation software and rip to a DVD?

Thank you very much for the response, by the way.

I didn't say anything to replace, it is called a live linux, you boot with the DVD/USB (no installation done). It is a good method to eliminate hardware faults. Re-consider please.
