Alright back again with another computer issue.

This time it's with a new bought Gigabyte GA-990FTXA-UD3. I've got everything working apart from this. It's my internet connection. Using the integrated network card obviously and the computer does not even respond to it when im connecting it.

Does anybody know what could be the problem.
And before you ask, Yes i do have reinstalled the OS as well as plugged directly into the modem but does still not work. I've also tried a different internet cable but didn't help either

You can find my spec's down below.

Have you checked the properties of the card? If the drivers for the card are installed, (normally comes with motherboard) and the card does not show up then your motherboard could be defective. OR, if it does show up and not working, it could be that the os turned off the network card. On the properties of the card, there is a power management tab that if not unchecked, windows could turn the card off.

So give that a shot.

Tried that and it's already enable.

Also check the bios for an option to boot with LAN on or off.
There is no such option and everything with LAN is enable in the BIOS settings

Did you install the MB drivers for the built in ethernet ?
Of course i did. The reason for the OS reinstall was to make sure that my old motherboard drivers was not interfering. So reinstalled everything and "stole" my parents CD reader to be able to install all the drivers and shit again but still did not work.

I have also gone to the Device Manager and tried to uninstall the drivers from there but that gave nothing either. The device manager says its working properly.

Unplug the network cable from the PC and have a good look at the network jack on the PC. Make sure there isn't any bent pins or bits of paper, lint etc, blocking the connection. Do the same thing at the other end of the network cable.

Nope theres nothing out of the ordinary in the motherboard port and the other end is workin properly as you can see since its working on this computer.

So spoke with the support from Inet.se (the shop i bought the motherboard from) and they said that it most likley is the motherboard. So i will most likley send in the motherboard and they will have to take a look at it.

I'm sorry to tell you, But i do not.
We have always used the intergradet network card. And before that we always bought the computers from some dumb retailers instead of building them our selfs ;)

Before you give up and request an rma on this mobo, please get a good flashlight and some reading glass if needed and look into the receptacle for any clear issue with the contacts. These are normally bent wires that act like spring loading, try holding the cat 5 or 6 cable in and see if the system sees the connection? You say you tried other cat 5's so we can rule out the cable.

Also is your router also wireless capable? This would be another option to get you on the net while you sort out the rma issue with the mfgr.

 I really sucks how the motherboard is defected most likely that its a product failure because i have been looking at many forums and many people have the same problem and yes it connects trough a wi-fi adapter i have for my old PC but does not connect trough the Ethernet and i have a quick question did the led's light up when you plugged the cord in? FYI i am going to return the board this week :D sadly thermal grease is ruined  and i have to spend another hour taking it apart putting it tougher not talking about the hour drive
