No headphone sound after Windows 7 clean installation

I recently performed a clean installation of Windows 7 Home Premium. Before that on preinstalled Windows the problem described below did not show up, sound worked just great.
Now I don't have sound when inserting my headphones in jack (built-in speakers work fine however). Windows reports that sound works, no problems found, but I hear nothing. On the same computer I have also Linux installed and the same headphones work well there in the same jack.
When I put my headphones in, Realtek Manager makes notification that the device is plugged in.

My model is Qosmio X775-3DV78. What I have tried so far:
1) Reinstalling, updating, removing, trying different versions of Realtek HD Audio driver.
2) Changing every possible setting in Realtek HD Audio Manager.
3) Trying different headphones - same result: nothing.
4) Changing settings in Playback Devices.

Since it worked before reinstalling Windows and since it works on Linux on the same computer, there is definitely something wrong with my drivers. Could you please provide information as to what drivers exactly I should have installed to make sound work correctly? Maybe some motherboard driver is missing (though I installed everything important I could find on Toshiba site).

Attached are some important screenshots. Please note that there are 2 unknown devices in my Device Manager and also USB Controller driver has problems, though I do not think it has any connection with the problem.
* On both Playback Devices forms Disabled Devices and Disconnected Devices are shown.

UPDATE: One of "Unknown devices" proved to be Toshiba HDD Shock Sensor driver and another one is ACPI\TOS6205. Another on is Bluetooth driver which I do not need.

UPDATE2: Headphones suddenly worked today afternoon for a few minutes when I turned the laptop on first time in the day, but then, after I rebooted it, they were not working again. I did not do anything.

The Toshiba supplied RealTek sound driver should be used. Non-Vendor supplied drivers (even drives directly from RealTek) many times will not work correctly. Also, the Intel motherboard chipset drivers (again get them from Toshiba) should also be installed. Windows may not install the correct chipset version.

In the Sound Panel, Playback section your "Speakers" (the RealTek) should be set as the Default playback device. You can also click the Configure button and make sure the proper type of speakers (e.g. stereo) is set and you can test there (may even be able to test the headset).

Nothing to do with the headset, but in the Recording section, the Stereo Mix should be set as the default recording device. Then whether you use the Mic or whatever input (whatever you hear on the speakers) will be recorded. You also need the Stereo Mix to record streaming audio from the Internet.

Well, both sound and motherboard chipset drivers installed on my system are taken from the Toshiba site.

Since "Speakers" is the only item listed there, they are already set to Default Device. Also, when I click the Configure button and press the Test button then, I cannot hear any sound in my headphones and the only option there to choose from is Stereo.

Thanks for this, I did it, but it is actually of no use right now since my headphones do not work anyway.

Any other suggestions?

UPDATE: Here is an interesting thing. I just followed an advice found somewhere out in the Internet which is to disable every Playback and Recording device, shut the laptop down and then turn it on again, and now there is sound in the headphones after enabling "Speakers" back. However I am not sure if this lasts for long since I already had the sound today's morning and then it was lost after reboot. I will write more tomorrow about how it goes.

OK, I got it to work in a weird way. Every time, before I turn off / reboot my computer, I turn off all sound devices and plug out headphones. Then, after I load Windows, I turn it all on and plug in headphones, and then it works. Would be interesting to find out why it works this way...
