I agree with severedsolo. People who actually know something about computers and like to keep their software up to date (IE10), are likely to have already updated to Windows 7.
vista passed me by really, never used it in the workplace and had it for a year or so at home after xp upgrade but swapped to 7 soon as it was released![]()
Well, I know a lot about computers and I work on them professionally and earn my living as a systems admin. When I built a new Computer in July of 2009, I waited for Windows 7 as the OS for that computer as it needed a Windows based OS installed on it.
But, I have my wife's laptop which is an HP and it came with Vista Home Premium. It has worked perfectly well since the day we got it, and honestly, I don't feel compelled in any way to shell out more than $100 to have it also running Windows 7. Of course, I'm not bothered in any way with IE10 not being usable, as I haven't used IE in years.
Vista sucks big time ... The most embarassed shit from MS ....
I dumped it for wds 7 as soon as it came out ..
Vista came out of the gate poor. Mfgs weren't there with drivers and such and this OS got a bad reputation right out of the gate. But in all honestly, after a bit of time, new installs of the OS were fine as mfg's got driver support out there, etc. Unfortunately, by this time, the tech pundits were slamming it and nobody wanted to give it a chance to do anything.
I'm not saying that I don't prefer Windows 7 to Vista. But on those machines which came with Vista, which run perfectly fine, I'm not inclined whatsoever to shell out more money to get them on Windows 7. I simply don't see the point, or the need.
