Please go to the Safe Mode, and re-install the graphic driver.

I believe you will enjoy the W 7 again.

safe mode

How do I do that

first in xp download the driver for your graphics card, save it either on cd or someplace where you can get to it. then reboot while its re-booting hit F8 and it should put you in safe mode (which doesn't use the display driver) and when its finisihed rebooting install the display driver and that hsould be it.

Let us know if that doesn't work

Hope this helped

Ken

Not sure if it's your graphics driver that's causing this, but something didn't work properly during the upgrade process. Upgrades have been disabled in the RC - RTM branch, and you must have modded the cversion file to get it to work, but I always say that MS has disabled the upgrade process for a reason, and it's not really a wise thing to work around that.

It could be any number of things that's stopping the installation from completing properly, since you say this is first boot after the upgrade. But usually it means that the installation failed in some manner, you may not even be able to access safe mode if the install is corrupt. I would run a Repair install first and if that still fails, do a clean install, not an Upgrade.

How do I download the driver?
But how do I install it on 7?

I know how to boot into Safe mode
I dont know how to reinstall my graphics driver
And for that repair I wanted to try that but Im on the latest version so how do I upgrade

Not sure if it's your graphics driver that's causing this, but something didn't work properly during the upgrade process. How do I do a repair install

And the only thing I did was Run it in Compatibilty for Vista SP2
A thread here said thats the only way to get it to upgrade to an RTM

Converseallstar,

To do a repair install, use your Windows 7 7264 x86 installation disk to do the instructions at the link below. If it still will not work for you, then you will need to do a clean install instead of a upgrade.

7600 is going to be the RTM (released to manufacturing) probably. It will be the last frantic upgrade for 30-60 days and should be a stabile reliable build. there will still be a few more fixes before it comes out but that should be just abt it.

Hope this helps

Ken
