No MIDI sound

I want a very small and light Windows so I installed "Windows7 Super Nano Lite" which seems to work very well except that it can't play MIDI. I installed a MIDI program, it plays, the needle moves along the song, but there is no sound at all. There is sound for WAV and MP3 (in other applications).

Of course, a "Super Nano Lite" installation has removed a bunch of stuff so I wonder if anyone here knows what I need to install to make MIDI playback work.
