When I start safe mode now in Win 7 Pro 64bit...both my mouse and keyboard are non responsive...so...I can not start "Safe Mode"

Same mouse and keyboard (Logitech K260) has be running without issues for a long long time.

There is no issue when running in normal mode...and also running Acronis True Image in what I think is Linux mode at boot ?

Have tried Logitech USB toggle in a number of open USB ports and no change in safe mode startup

Any suggestions on how to get the mouse/keyboard back and functioning in Safe Mode?

Thanks...TRinAz

Are they wireless. Logitech k260.
Safe mode loads only basic drivers. Try a wired keyboard in Safe mode.

Thanks...yes they are wireless but my Win 7 Pro 64bit has worked for years with this key board and mouse...including safe mode. I did repair install a couple weeks ago and feel this is probably the reason

Hopefully I still have a ps2 mouse/keyboard out in the garage...have even tried a system reinstall from recent (after repair install) Acronis backup but still no joy ?

Have a look through BIOS set up to see if you have settings for mouse & keyboard. If your mouse & keyboard aren't activated in the BIOS you will not be able to any do Windows repairs via the Windows installation DVD. In fact you would not even be able to Install Windows either.

Thanks...yes the bios is enabled and in the bios readout at start up the keyboard-mouse-and usb drive are found/listed.

Have discovered that after a minute or 2...I do have access to both mouse and keyboard...with my wireless mouse/keyboard.

The difference after the repair install is that there is this 60-90 second delay...whereas previously the mouse/keyboard were active immediately at safe mode startup.

Have one other option that I may look into but for now...the mouse/keyboard is working in safe mode...albeit with a 60 second or so delay...

Thanks....TiminAz

At least you now know that it will work, even though you have to wait a while. I found my mouse in these circumstances would not work if connected to a USB 3 socket but will work if connected to a USB 2 one.
