So earlier today my PC was shut off via the power button (dunno if that helps) and when I turned it back on, I had no sound in my headset. I restarted and it still occured. None of the volume and sound options seems to have been changed and I dunno what happened! Please assist me if you can.

Depending on what the reason for the power button shut down, almost anything can happen.

You say no sound in headset. Do you have sound in speakers?

Go to the Device Manager Sound section. Right click to highlight your sound device (e.g. RealTek or whatever you have) and then LEFT Click "Uninstall". DO NOT check the box to uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. This fixes a lot of Windows corruptions and may fix your problem.

BTW, more system info should be posted. Dell XPS doesn't tell us much as there are many XPS models. But, DO NOT include the Service Tag number, as that is personal data.
