Hi all:
After searching through the "no sound" threads on this forum, I haven't found an answer to my problem. My Dell Studio 1745 laptop will not make a sound in windows but works great in linux.
In "services.msc" all the audio services are set to manual or automatic, device manager shows the audio devices working properly, and yet I get the message "no device present". This happened after upgrading to windows 7 from XP.
How do I get windows 7 to recognize my audio device? It uses an 82801I Intel controller.
Thanks, Tom
