No Sound on Dell Laptop

I am at my wits end...lol

I have checked out as much as I know how to find out why I have no sound. All the drivers are there and updated and when I "test" ...I can see the green bars moving but there is no sound. It is not muted.

Please post a screen shot of the Device Manager, Sound section and the Sound Panel Playback panel.

Which name and number of the model? Have you checked the volume keys on the Notebook/Laptop itself? It usually requires a combination of the keys [Fx] plus settings in the Operating System to get what you want. Same with a multi-media keyboard on a Desktop.

I did hit the "FN" key and the F12 key simultaneously but nothing

Actually, I misspoke about the Fn+F keys, was working with someone else and their Notebook while typing.

You may find the F12, and a couple others, work by themselves, don't need the Fn combination. When you think about it, having direct/immediate action for Volume is the reason for not needing the Fn. Most Notebook/Laptop keyboards have colored markings on the F keys which require holding down the Fn key, the key marking color will be the same as on the Fn key.
