All that was not needed. Just fill in the "My System Specs".

Exactly what problem are you having with the S/PDIF? Can you set it as the Default Audio Playback device in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound panel?

Do you have the actual PC Vendor's sound driver or do you have a generic Windows installed sound driver (or some other driver)? The PC vendor's sound driver is normally the best as non-Vendor drivers will either not work or not work correctly. The generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec is only a basic function sound driver and extra items such as S/PDIF may not be supported with the is driver.

As you have a Lenovo PC, go to the Lenovo site and access the downloads for your specific model PC.

The "High Definition Audio Device" for the sound suggests its not using the correct sound driver. The correct sound driver may not fix the S/PDIF however its a needed first step.

(I have a Lenovo Laptop that I use for on site recording).

The should be a model number marking on it somewhere. e.g. my laptop is an Ideapad Z560.
