I bought a new pc with windows 7 ultimate and everything was fine until I got up this morning. Turned on the pc and there was no sound at all.
I tried everything I knew to no avail, and I could not think what happened. Nothing was muted and all my drivers were up to date.
Then I rolled back my drivers for the sound card and the sound came back!! Is this because windows update installed the wrong drivers? If this is the case is there any way I can stop update from updating the drivers??

Thanks

You could set Windows Update to not automatically install updates, and manually choose which ones to install. Or you could right-click on the driver update and click Hide.
