no windows 7 sounds

No win7 sounds. Yahoo sounds do work.

I have spent a several hours looking for an answer with no results.

No errors in device manager.

Windows sounds in control panel do not work. Select sound and green light turns on. No sound.

A little more PC information would help us to try and help you, including the complete ASUS motherboard model.

Also, what is listed in the Device Manager/Sound section?
Post a screenshot of that section.
