No Windows Media Player on new laptop

I have just installed Windows 7 home premium on a new laptop.
When I try to play a windows help video nothing happens.
When I go into Programs Windows Media Player and click it nothing happens
I seen an article by microsoft on google which said:
Windows 7 included Media Player.

Then further on Windows 7N and Windows 7KN did not.
How do I know if I have either of these?
Or is there any other reason I cannot use this software?

Maybe it isn't enabled...
Go to control panel-->Programs and features-->then on the left you'll see "turn windows features on and off".....like in my snip below. Take a look there and report back to us what you see.:geek:
