Installing WIN7 on new laptop freezes at "STARTING WINDOWS".

TL;DR: New laptop with Linpus Linux, can't install Windows from bootable USB, [title] among errors.

Hi. I'm quite desperate to make a forum post, so please help me, as I've been googling and trying all I could for the last 5 hours.

FIRST:
Bought new laptop(ACER ASPIRE E 15) and it came with a preinstalled Linpus Linux(no GUI), which has no DVD tray - so I have to install Windows through a bootable USB stick.

However, this is not the problem, as I've made a lot of bootable USB sticks before and never encountered these problems.


So, the problems:

• Trying to normally bootup results in windows doing some "Loading files" for a few seconds then going into "Starting windows" and the animation freezes after less than a second.
• Trying to install windows in LEGACY MODE only allows me to pick between Linpus Linux (3.4.46) and Create a bootable USB disk - it does not detect the bootable USB.
• Trying to boot with F12 gives the same animation freeze problem.

WHAT I'VE TRIED SO FAR(so you don't suggest things I've already done)

• disabled safe boot
• disabled 3.0 usb port
• enabled legacy mode
• went back to UEFI mode
• tried both FAT32 and NTFS file systems
• tried a different USB port
• plugged out any other device except for the bootable USB stick

I'm using RUFUS 2.11 and I will try with a different copy of Windows and a different stick after I get some sleep, so if you've got other ideas aside from those, please comment.

I am currently trying out the method in this link(Install Windows 7 On Acer Aspire One), I will return after I finish.


P.S. I've tried booting on the PC(the one I'm typing from right now) and it only showed an underline blipping, and just that - it did not boot. So I'm guessing I did not boot correctly(even though it might be because I booted for UEFI systems?). If you know what the cause of this might be, then you may actually help me solve it all!

Hello and welcome gaby1best mate what are you trying to do - make a dual boot or what?? I don't understand why the machine came with a Linux install on so is it a refurbished machine or what?

In fact please do this as it is very hard to work with unkonwn components.

I met the nearly same occassion when i try to install my lenovo desktop last Sunday. At first, I searhed the tutorials on internet, there is a way to reinstall win7 under xp or 2003 or winNT.x with NT6 HDD Installer. I tried this way, step by step as to the tutorial on the internet, but I failed just you said 'freezing at "starting windows"'. Second, I used rufus as you mentioned, I made a USB bootable diver, but the same occassion happened. I don't know what's wrong to this. I am no a person easy to give up, then I try another version of windows en_win7_x64. I tried again, failed once again. I felt so desprated. How should I do next? I contact the lenono customer service today, the technician told me to set some options of the BIOS, I will try when I back home. Hope the advice works.

As mentioned, you have to give us ALL hardware information of the ASPIRE E 15 and its code.

If you know what the cause of this might be, then you may actually help me solve it all!

Please do fill out your System Specs as fully as possible.

In the meantime:

I guess you are trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate via a USB flash drive.

What is the source of your ISO for Windows Ultimate?
