Hi everyone.
I have 13 days left on the subscription of Norton that was on the computer when I bought it in December.
It has ran ok and no problems with it. I am trying to make my mind up about replacing it with the Norton 360 version which is £30 at PC world when the subscription runs out.
So my question is ...Has anyone used it with windows 7 and was it good bad or just rubbish.
I might try the free ones kicking about but thought i would go this route first. Thanks for any input chaps and chapesses.

I have used Norton 360 latest version. But sometime or other, I get the symantec engine compatibility error message. But 360 stays with a green tick. Used it for a week and then removed. Much improvement u can see.

Never, the last sentence is for Symantec themselves. They have improved a lot nowadays is wat I meant. NIS is equally too gud and really love the pulse updates.

Thanks everyone. I know the program on the computer is just called "Norton internet security" and that is from the "About" section on the drop down menu. I know how to remove this program when needed, but I am just wondering now, if when I load the 360 that would do the job for me.
What do you think.

You'll need a removal tool for that. As for me, Norton 360 was recently updated to v3.8 something and is perfectly stable and light on resources running on the ultraportable in my specs. However, if you don't want to pay, Microsoft Security Essentials is great too.

NIS is a AV cum Firewall. N360 is all in one. Firewall+AV+Backup+Tuneup

Its damn gud. Try it. No harm in it. You would face some weird issues if u r installing N360 after NIS if NIS is not properly removed.

So download and run the Norton Removal Tool. Restart the machine, then install N360. :D

All good advice from everyone. I will try the 360, as you say no harm trying it. I will get the unistall tool from norton and do that first.
Thanks again to all replies. By the way, how do you mark a thread sorted.

Norton 360 would be a good replacement.

You may not need the removeal tool, as Norton 360 will remove on install.

Ive not used 360, but Norton Internet Security is very good...much better than previous programs from Norton...well worth the $$.. ;)

pfft Norton is a bad anti virus, kinda improved but get kaspersky, Eset, or Zone Alarm.

Virus Bulletin : VB100 results summary
Norton isnt even listed here.

For nice protection I suggest getting, Kaspersky, or Eset or Zonealarm (having multiple anti virus, can make them interact with eachother and crash your PC). If having Eset or Kaspersky Disable windows firewall and get zonealarm firewall. Also get superantispyware and malwarebytes.

Suites come with their own firewall - so what is the point of Zonealarm and 2 anti malware tools? For what?

Different Anti Spyware finds different malicious programs, thats why some find more then others, having 2 will increase the chance off finding a trojan aswell as the ZoneAlarm anti Spyware really aint the best you can get.

Having 1 Anti Spyware can be dangerous, I had Ad-Aware, Claimed to be amongst 2009's best, didnt find any Malcious programs, malwarebytes found 10.

I have no antimalware except one suite on each of my PC's. You don't need them unless your system has been compromised.
