Some months ago I decided to try Norton Backup which I had as a feature in Norton 360. I created a small backup set and did some playing about with it. As it didn't seem to offer much more in the way of features than Windows Backup I forgot about it. Unfortunately I left it active and noticed that it had got rather large (about 90,000 files). I decided to delete this last Sunday morning. I followed the instructions in the help file to do this. THIS DELETION TOOK 76 HOURS TO COMPLETE.

So What have I learned from this.

1. Don't start something and then forget about it.
2. Test everything including how to get rid of it and what happens at the boundaries.
3. Research other users experience with the product

Needless to say I won't be using this in future.

I must be fair - Norton extended my subscription 30 days for the inconvenience today.
