Solved not able to delete AT&T program

You can trust Revo to delete all of the files it comes up with in Advanced Mode. It has never been reported to fail. It also sets a System Restore point which can be used from DVD or Repair CD System Recovery Options if it causes boot failure.

You should also complete the steps I've asked you about thrice now. If you no longer want my help please just say so and not ignore repeated posts.

Greg, I have done all the steps that you have sent - more that once now.

Everything to do with the ATT program is gone that had ATT in it - icon, program files, etc. There were a number of files left when I did a scan with nevo but I can't fine a way to get back to them now so I assume some still remain in the Reg.

I am downloading the new win 7 from link you gave me - it has over 4 hours to go.

I attached the files that Karl wanted.

Except waiting until the download is complete I don't know what else to do. - jb

You scanned the entire registry for ATT keys using the steps I gave you, completed Revo Advanced mode choosing everything it found, and then ran CCleaner Reg tab?

jeb,
although I find things that need to be changed in the task scheduler list and the install list, none of them are at the root of your problem.

What that means is that I need to install and run autoruns. Here is how to run autoruns.

Win | type Autoruns | do not hit Enter |
in the list above where you were typing, right-click on autoruns and choose Run As Administrator |
let autoruns populate, then from the autoruns menu bar, File |Save item | Save button |
Exit from autruns. Do NOT change anything.

In your documents folder is a file called autoruns.arn
Zip that file up and upload.
I'll be looking for what is "restarting" your ATT pain.

Greg, I ran the Revo scan in the middle setting - moderate, it think. It came up with a very large number of problem files - some in red. I only deleted the ones that had ATT in the file name - none of the others That took the ATT icon off the Revo list. Without that icon, I can find no way to get back to the scan to bring up all the files I did not delete.

Karl, do you mean putting autorun in the search box on the start menu? Nothing comes up if I do that? - jb

jeb,
That's my mistake.

I happen to have the SysInternalsSuite in my path statement.

Just right-click on Autoruns.EXE anc choose Run as Administrator.

Sorry to be so dumb but when I type autorun or autorun.exe in the search box nothing comes up. If I just put auto in it comes up with autoplay and a couple of other files. - jb

Sorry for the confusion.

You downloaded a file called autoruns.zip. Is that correct?

If yes, did you then unzip autoruns.zip?

When you unzipped autoruns.zip, one of the files was autoruns.exe

Right-click on that autoruns.exe.

let me know if I need to elucidate further.

Karl, I had a hack of a time getting autorun downloaded. A problem with the download since I have the other file working as well and then a problem with winzip.

But have autorun up and running now. - jb

The autoruns.exe is in the winzip folder, not in the regular programs folder - when I right click on it it does not give me the option to run as admin.

If I do a search for it, it does not come up.

I can click on it and open the program and it came up with a bunch of files. I then found "run as admin" under the file menu and when I clicked on it the program came back up with all the menu items at the top but no files under it.

What do I do to get the info you want? - jb

Be sure and actually extract the files from the .zip file.

What program are you using to unzip?

Carl, I used Winzip and it unzips into its own folder. There is no run as admin when I right click. Closed and open the program again and it comes up with the menus but no files listed as it did the first time. - jb

OK - I now have all the files back up - most are black, some yellow and some Lexmark are pink.

I am logged in as admin on the computer.

Jeb,
That tells me that the files aren't actually being extracted.

I haven't used WinZip in quite awhile and in fact removed same from my computer.

If you right-click on the .ZIP file, is there an option that says "Extract all ...."? If yes, then use that. That is Windows own unzipper.

I think I confused you - the autorun program is up and running - the files I mentioned are the ones in the autorun window, not the winzip window.

Run Autoruns as administrator, then:
on the top menu bar you will see File
Click on FILE | choose SAVE | click on the SAVE button

You will now have a file called autoruns.arn in your Documents folder.

You can now exit from Autoruns.

Zip up Autoruns.ARN and upload.
