After a reinstall,I am told ( again ) that Windows is not genuine.I have activated Windows 7 over the phone before, but this time I dont even get the option to activate Windows.I just get a whole lot of rubbish about how Windows 7 is too old and I should switch ( buy ) Windows 11.At the end of all this I get the question "Was this answer helpfull "
So,it looks like MS DONT want you to have Windows 7 ( no matter how well it is running ) and it looks like they are determined for me to BUY Windows 11.
So,and advice on how I can get around this ?
I like Windows 7,it is compatable with a lot more games etc than more recent versions.Thank you in advance

I think you have mis-read what my problem is.My instilation of Windows is limited, because MS in their wisdome have decided that Windows 7 is too old now and they "will not let me activate it" I have the original Windows 7 DVD with the serial number etc but there is no option to input thie serial number.I can still copy and paste the results from DX if you want but ,as I said I dont think that can fix my problem.

I dont see how that will help either.
I have been running Windows 7 with service pack 2 ever since I bought it and have had no problems.I dont install updates, because IMHO they are a BIG Scam by MS to slow your PC down over time which makes you think you need to buy the latest version of Windows.

I am not looking to input my serial number. When I start my PC I get a notice saying that "This windows is not genuine " I am supposed to activate Windows by inputting a whole series of numbers that some lady geves me,over the phone. At least that was the option about one year ago,now that option does not exist.I am just told by MS that I should get Windows 11

If activation doesn't work the normal way have you tried to call Microsoft support?

Last year I needed to activate two computers with Windows XP. Online and phone support did not work for Window XP. I assume the activation servers for Windows XP were not online anymore. I called Microsoft support. Microsoft support was very helpful in activating these computers for me.

BTW, I don't remember what phone number I used to call Microsoft's live support. Does anyone know what that number is?

Follow this guide to force phone activation. How can I activate Windows 7 via phone system? Note: You will have to right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. Also take a screenshot of the activation window after you enter in the entire activation code.
