Not genuine messages; error 0x80070426

I just recalled something - when I changed from wireline to my USB Wifi stick April 11-12, I needed to enter a fixed IP so that I could still see some shared folders on the home Wii (for watching videos with WiiMC). For a moment two network adapters had the same IP (ending in '.10') and there was a message about a conflict. I quickly changed the old adaptor (wireline) to end with '.9' and everything seemed okay and the connection has been working fine. The change was made in the IPv4 settings under Properties for the adapters. I do recall that there was another network adaptor conflict message a few weeks later but I ignored it after checking out that the IPs were different and based on that I was not experiencing connection problems. I have since changed the wireline adapter to automatically obtain the IP address from the router instead of the entered '.9' but it did not make a difference.

Could this possibly be related to the SPP troubles?

Thanks

No- there's no indication that the problem is anything other than internal to the OS.

Well I did the repair install and so far so good.

The only issues that popped up during the repair install were a message that setup had detected the .NET framework needed to be repaired followed by some Windows Updates, and then when I was finishing up with the activation I got a 'the product key you typed is invalid' which I re-entered and successfully activated.

Hopefully the problem does not reappear like it did over the last few weeks. Here is an updated MGADiag:

Looks like the updates are done now.

When the computer woke up from sleep this morning for the virus scan I notice the wireless connection was down. I checked the static IP address (192.168.2.10) I had to do last night on the IPv4 properties and the default gateway which I though I entered correctly as 192.168.2.1 was now gone). I've re-entered the default gateway and all seems fine again now.

There were also thousands of ESENT Transaction manager errors in the event while the virus scan ran:
Windows (3296) Windows: The database engine detected multiple threads illegally using the same database session to perform database operations.

I usually recommend leaving the networking settings on automatic - it takes a couple of seconds longer to connect in the first instance, but avoids problems like that :)
