Not Receiving Windows Defender Definitions Anymore

Hi everyone!

Well, as the title states, I'm not receiving Windows Defender definitions through Windows Update anymore...

Until last friday, on my Windows 7 Pro x64 notebook, at every scan on tuesdays and fridays, Windows Defender had it's definitions updated via Windows Update, as "KB915597". Earlier today when I checked for updates, nothing was found, except for the MS Removal Tool from November and November's Security Quality Rollup.

Using Windows Defender to search for updates shows no errors, it apparently completes the scan, and says there are not updates available, even though MS site (here: Access Denied ) states there are definitions created today (Nov 8th).

Is anyone facing the same issue, or my PC is screwed somehow?

Same issue here however after several tries I managed to manually download definitions from site You've mentioned. From now on I'm going to wait and see if it starts updating as it should.

Small suggestions.
Install Microsoft Security Essentials
It will replace built in Windows 7 Defender. At the same time MSE should turn off Defender.
In my opinion Defender in Windows 7 is pretty much useless.
