Solved not sure what else to do

i am having a problem where when my computer restarts about half the time i have to hit reset because it never loads windows just a blank black screen which from then i went on to test all the hardware using pc-doctor and everything passed. so i did a system restore hoping it was software related and still nothing. so i went into bios to check my settings and everything is ok... my OS is installed on a Kingston 256gb ssd. defragment has been off since i got the harddrive and the service superfetch.

MOTHERBOARD- ASUS

RAM- DDR3 8GB

GPU- NVIDIA GEFORCE GT640 2GB DDR3

HDD- 256GB SSD KINGSTON

I ALSO HAVE SOME STORAGE HDDS PLUGGED IN.

WINDOWS EVENT VIEWER SHOWS NOTHING RELATED TO MY PROBLEM.... PROBLY BECAUSE ITS POST WINDOWS.

Have you tested your RAM? I would use Memtest86+ to test your RAM. Let it run overnight and see if it finds any failures and report back.

I do not overclock, and my ram passed tests as well, so I disided to reinstall an new win7 pro 64bit thinking maybe the format of my ssd was somehow corrupt and unable to launch at times, but this has done nothing. next im going to swop out sata cords.

What did you use to test your RAM?

it was the sata cord, it has not happend again after replacing it. now that my whole system has been redone and all tests have passed im confident that was it. i use pc-doctor 7.9, i work for a smalltown pc store and we invested in this about 5 years ago and just upgraded to 9.0 because it also launches in uefi boot and this system has never failed us yet. although im thinkn of adding 4gb ram to my system just because, im not gaming with it....mostly downloading, photoshop cs6, and customization software. never really have time to game and my wife basically uses it for facebook. its sad i know but nice not having to worry bout not having good hardware. not much i cant do.
