Not waking from sleep mode properly

Hi, I hope this is the right forum.

Sleep mode not working properly. When i close the lid, or select sleep, and then try to resume, the computer turns off instead. Upon restarting i get the error message "Windows did not shut down correctly" (as shown in the attached photo)

I have scoured these forums and have tried various solutions which do not work.

Some of the things that i have tried which i can remember:

1. Double checked all the power settings
2. Checked the device manager and under "USB Controllers", where there is a "USB Root Hub" under "power management" i have deselected "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
3. Turning off hybrid mode

Any other ideas?



Would love to solve this problem, really annoying.

first enter your BIOS and make sure that ACPI power state is set to S3 and hardware settings are set to wake with 'any key' and/or mouse (mousepad) or 'lid opening' (not sure if this setting exists as I don't use laptops)--after booting--check to see that your screen saver is set to 'none'

then change your power plan to High Performance (you can edit this later to save your battery)--then edit the plan settings to match the screen shots (note: the settings shown in the first screen shot for 'turn off display' and 'put computer to sleep')--IF this works--then try editing one setting at a time (testing) to see which works for power saving (put machine to sleep--wait a minute or so as win 7 doesn't sleep instantly)--then wake it, to see how a changed setting affects the function)
