The gaming graphics score is based on the primary graphics adapter. If this system has linked or multiple graphics adapters, some software applications may see additional performance benefits.
Caution: Based on the results of the WinSAT Disk assessment, your system drive may have slower response times under some workloads. Performance results will depend on the specific applications used and the amount of memory available. If your experience is satisfactory, no action is needed.

Hi Pedroxam, Welcome to Seven Forums.

First thing I noticed that you have P4 and 7 TB of hard disk? Anyways, let's move on.

Do not keep installing drivers for the card without removing old drivers. First uninstall old drivers completely. To remove the drivers completely do this.

1. Get "Driver Sweeper".
2. Uninstall the old drivers.
3. Reboot in Safe mode.
4. Run Driver Sweeper and clean out all the bits of old driver (in SAFE MODE only).
5. Reboot the PC
6. Install the latest drivers now.
7. Reboot

AND

Keep us posted. :)

yup, adding more RAM ain't gonna help much with P4.
I had a P4 2.80GHz with 512MB ram when Vista came out. I installed it and found out system was begging for more RAM and aero wasn't working also with onboard graphics. I remember rushing out to market and buying another 512MB RAM and a nVidia 6200 to get vista working. :)
After that it could run vista but still very slow. P4 doesn't have enough punch to use Vista. After a while i got new system with Q6600+4GB RAM+8600 GT and it rocked.

So i would just install XP on this old system and be happy that it still works. XP would be lightening fast on that P4 :D

Just thought of something. your card is compatible with Win 7. But, you have to install these drivers.

Nvidia Drivers.

You have to install these in compatibility mode. MS Vista SP2 mode and then try to run the PC. Nvidia dropped support for the FX series a long time ago.

Dude, did you install the drivers in compatibility mode?
For that you have right click on the .exe file of the driver, go to compatibility mode, under the option "Run this program in compatible mode". Select Windows Vista. Also, select "Run as admin". Then execute the file and install the drivers.
But, make sure you uninstall the drivers first and user Driver Sweeper to remove the old driver completely.

Reason to use compatibility mode is that the card is old and we might not get the correct drivers for this card and Win 7. So, we need to use the drivers made for Vista and force install them on Win 7.

GeForce FX 5500 will WORK on Windows 7 OS as long as you have any tweaks because its a DirectX 9.0c graphic card (which NVIDIA kept it as a secret). But I suggest use that graphics card with Windows XP.
