Solved nVidia GEforce GTX 660 (no Ti) power usage 2

I'm using 2 because I made an earlier post about this and screwed up a detail, and I feel like nobody will even notice that thread.

So, I got a GTX 660 GPU to replace my dead ATI Radeon HD 5770. I have a 600W Diablotek PSU, but every other time I start my computer and open Chrome, my computer shuts off then restarts. When I play a game, it runs fine for ~10 minutes, then my computer shuts off and restarts.

I made a mistake in my last thread saying my PSU was 350W, so I bought a new 530W power supply to replace it. I took out the old one, and the out-of-view label said it was a 600W PSU. So I put it back in, sent back the 530W PSU, and bought a cheaper 700W PSU that was on sale. I still want to know why this is happening in the first place though.

What brand of GPU did you buy? It's never a good idea cheaping out on a PSU.

It was a nVidia GeForce GTX 660 without Ti by EVGA.

Sorry, I meant PSU, what PSU did you buy?

The PSU that I bought and returned is a Raidmax 530W PSU. I bought a new one, same brand, that's 700W.

It certainly sounds like a PSU issue. I've never heard of Raidmax, I'd recommend Corsair all the time. Can you download HWInfo so we can see what sort of voltages you have. Take a screenshot and upload it into your next post.

OK, your voltages on the 5v rail are looking a little low to me but your 12v rail is way off. It should look like this:

I'm inclined to say your PSU needs changing because that's not right. I'm going to ask a hardware expert to take a look at your voltages and see what he thinks.

Figured so, I bought this used, I don't even know what it was used for or how long it was used for. I have a new PSU coming in the mail anyways. Thank you.

No problem. I can't stress enough how important a quality PSU is for your system. If you can get hold of a Corsair I would highly recommend doing so.
