Nvidia HDMI audio issues.

Just upgrading an old system to Windows 7 with a 9500 GT card and started having issues with a 'Static' clicking sound on Philips HDTV. Have tried to see if I can uninstall the driver but seems to always reinstall itself on boot up. Other things I have tried is disable HDMI audio settings within Nvidia Control panel but the settings don't hold when the system restarts and try a selection of other Nvidia Geforce drivers including 2 beta's.

I have done some research and it seems a lot of people are dealing with this type of issue by modifying the inf file using a EDID editor but haven't really found one with this problem.

Could someone give me some help or at least point me in the right direction in solving this issue.

Do you get any static with the regular PC audio? Could be some other problem and not the HDMI??

The Dimension 9150 is rather old (I had a Dimension E510/5150) and generally only Dell audio drivers work or work correctly.

I know the Dimension 9150 is an old pc but it was given to me and Im just working on it as something to do some web design stuff and it works.

The problem is through the HDMI on the NVidia card cause the Nvidia software is apparently seeing my 'monitor' (which it shouldn't do as it's a Philips HDTV) as something that has HDMI ports and is installing the audio driver along with the graphics drivers.

I have been trolling the net and found out that I could fool the Windows registry into thinking that my TV is just a standard Plug and Play monitor (or something like that) which should force the GeForce software to skip installing the HD audio driver, something called EDID editing but I haven't been able to find a guide on how to do this for this situation.

The usual way the HDMI port works is if there is a cable plugged in, the Default audio playback device automatically changed to HDMI. You have to manually change the Default audio playback device to the "Speakers" (PC audio) in order for the regular PC audio to work.

There may be a tweak but I don't have any info on it, or if the linked method would work.
