NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management Driver

Hi guys,

having a bit of trouble! I am trying to install the "NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management" driver and it goes through all the steps, but when I reboot and do a scan with "Driver Checker" it tells me that the driver is out of date. I run Windows 7, which might have to do with the problem. I'm not exactly sure what a PCI System Management is good for but my internet runs very slow and I have a pretty good spec on my computer. Unfortunately I didn't buy the computer from a certain manufacturer (e.g dell, etc.) but rather made up.

Hope some one can help - have already sent the computer back and all they did was insert a stronger processor - the only thing that that helped with wass with the BSOD (BlueScreen), but otherwise the internet runs super slow!!!

Welcome to seven forums.IMO driver checker and similar programs are designed to find something wrong or else how would they sell you the program? My suggestion woulld be to go to your motherboard makers site and make sure you have the latest chipset drivers installed. This is a 8200sm though. Still uses the 15.45 nvidia Nforce driver. This should help. also are their any problematic devices in device manager> Yellow triangels on devices? Fabe (edit) the only model I could find is the GF8200SM-M3 V1.0 http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Pr...D=1&DetailName=Specification&MenuID=1&LanID=9 If you have the link to the exact model please post it but i think they most likely use the same chipset, but could be wrong. If you could copy and paste a view of your device manager that could be of some use also.

If this is your motherboard - GF8200SM-M3? Note it has a S in the name, but i cannot locate the site, tried global, UK & US site but no exact match - there are other countries if it isnt, so you should be able to find it.

I know little about your board and i not sure the driver your looking for is there, or whether its the correct board. There will be more replies though - good luck.

I did the same searching and also couldn't find the board without the S in it. Fabe

Thanks guys - my mistake it is an GF8200SM-M3 - I left the "S" out by accident.

I have no yellow exclamation marks and all seems well. I looked at the Device Manager and looked at the properties of the "Nvidia nForce PCI System Management" - Funnily enough it says "No drivers are installed for this device." in the General Tab. However, when I go into the Driver tab it say that I have a driver installed and it is version "6.1.7600.16385" from 21.06.2006. In the Resources Tab it says "No Conflicts".

I've downloaded the drivers form the ECS Website before but they don't help the problem unfortunately.

@ Fabe - I already have the 15.49 version of the chipset on my computer, but I installed it again for good measure but it didn't help.

This all seems very odd, hope my update helped a bit.

I dont think you have a problem it probably hasnt refreshed properly or nvidia made a small error writing the driver not worth correcting - you have no yellow asterisks and it has the driver installed - if you arent receiving any related errors which you could check in event viewer i think your ok.
Control Panel - Administrative tools - Event Viewer

Type "System Information" - start - search - select - go to Components - problem devices see if there are any. Also have a look in Software Environment - System Drivers, and see if its listed as ok.

That driver that is installed 6.1.7600.16385 (my mistake saying it was a nvidia driver) is what the OS installed during installation - they are generally OK - are you running a 64bit OS - maybe the driver wont install as it has a problem - you could try right clicking the setup.exe file and select "run as an administrator" to see if it will install, or just leave it as is - a slow internet has nothing to do with this - you may need a driver update for your Network Adapter.

Have you checked windows update for optional hardware updates?

That driver scan checker could be the cause of all your probems - maybe you need a system restore to remove it if you have any further problems.
