Hey all,

I just OC'd my Nvidia Galaxy gt 430 GPU.

I attached a picture of my results, and what the stock clock speeds were.

Look at my specs. I got the GPU to a max temp of 68c when doing a burn in test. I imagine it can get hotter with out problems? I didn't notice any artifacts either.

Does this mean I can put the clock speeds to a higher setting? ( Going up 15mhz at a time )? Note the Default clocks vs the GPU clocks that I just did.

Thanks..

Photo wouldn't upload via this site, so I had to use Photobucket. The max temp was 68c, you can't see it in the photo.

Ok. I clocked it even further. Max temp only hit 70c after 10 min of a burn in test.

I imagine I could stop here.???

Well, the chip on the card can withstand temps. up to 98* C, after which you could start doing some damage to the card.

70* C on full load is quite normal for a graphics card.

yep, 70c is perfectly fine, especially during a burn in.

Personally I'd start capping it around the 85-90c mark during testing and around 80-85c mark for 'real world' usage.

Well, I think in order to get the temp that high I would need to do some serious over clock, in which it would probably become unstable. I don't want to fry up my GPU. I was just seeing what I could do with it real easily, as with some finesse I only paid $20 for this new, and I OC'd it to be a little faster then some other cards that are slightly more expensive.

I was looking around online and all that I could find was 2 people who OC'd this card and showed some pics. It seems I'm in the higher end of the scale in which I got the clocks at.

Hmmm. Today when I started my computer up I checked GPU-z and all what I did for over clocking, the clock speeds are back at the stock settings. Why did it do that??

At the bottom of MSI afterbruner, it has an option that says " Apply overclocking at system startup". Should I enable that?
