whats the max safe gaming temp that it can go to everyday for hrs and hrs on end?

Are you monitoring the gaming temps real time? I doubt the games are using the CPU at 100% all the time. The temps in your screenshot are probably just a peak that it hit for a few seconds.

yes i do monitor in real time. the hottest core averages ~62c but it does hit the max temp frequently.

playing around in bios in an attempt to lower temps. what is there really to do? im trying high LLC with a 1.7V CPU PLL and medium current speed, but im still getting same temps and voltages required.

There is nothing wrong with the temps. They seem totally fine for the speed and voltage you are using. If you want lower temps either get better cooling i.e a custom loop or lower your speed and voltage.

You are obviously not happy with the temps even though everyone has told you they are fine several times. I suggest you just run the CPU at stock speed and drop the voltage right down.

so im still experimenting with voltages.... here are my temps the first pic is gaming temps, and the last pic is 10 mins of prime95. that is with it ~28C in my room. what do you guys think? is this ok for 24/7 use?

Your Vid & Power Watts are quite low, you are letting the cores balancing from x16 to x45GHz. so it goes turbo on demand. Turn off CPU Spread Spectrum and you will have 4,5GHZ constantly, but you can also let the core balancing like that, it will use turbo when needed, therefore not heat cores too much.

owell didn't work. still need the same amount of voltage and therefore the same temps. darn. owel guess im stuck unless i get a new cooler or delid, but im not attempting that again. so its staying at where it is.

Patrick you are fretting about a non-issue really, the temps are fine. If you were getting over 90C with games or Prime I'd worry.
Actually what Paul said about setting it to stock values is a good idea, you won't notice any difference.

The other thing is my GPU and MSI afterburner. Everything works at boot except my custom fan profile. after i reboot or close AB the GPU reverts back to its "auto" state. anyone know how to enable custom fan curve at boot? or is it not possible without the program running?

alright, so I finally settled at 4.4GHz @ 1.152V under prime load and average cpu temp of 65 and max core temp of 72C in 29C ambient. it just gets way to hot in my house in the summer! lol. voltage is way lower now too from 4.5. at 4.5 i needed 1.216V in prime.

I found 4.4GHz @ 1.152V is a bit low on voltage...any issues with your input peripherals? I'm running my z77 @4.3Ghz and 1.18xV is the lowest i can have without BSOD my keyboard.

gaming, it goes to 1.172V inprime its at 1.168V. i had to increase it a bit. this CPU is kinda funky. at -.015 offeset, it is 100% stable in prime, IBT, and ADIA. but playing games and doing other variouse things, i had to increase it to +.015
