Im having the infamous IRQL less or equal blue screen of death, that flashes before I can get all the details. It makes the minidump (windows 7) and resets. I had this on my last computer, but that was due to hardware failure and I spent alot of time trying to get rid of it. Something odd that Ive noticed was that it wont happen if I dont open Microsoft Explorer 8 yet Firefox works fine. 3d games are no issue. It has crashed with Open Office, but Im pretty sure Explorer was open at the time. I originally blamed it on Daemon Tools Lite (Ive heard STDP can be an issue), uninstalled and put windows 7 back in. It worked perfectly for a day, including explorer, then started happening again. There have been no system changes or installations since yesterday when it started, except for windows auto update on reinstall (not a clean install, I really dont want to lose all my system settings and all that jazz). My computer is 8 months old tops and a pretty beastly rig. Gateway FX, specs are in my profile. I included the minidump from \windows\minidump in a zip file. There was only one file produced. Thank you in advance for your time in taking a look! Also how do you read the minidump files? Im normally pretty stubborn about knowing how to fix things myself.

The error blames the Windows kernel - this is probably not the case (if it was, you'd have a lot more problems other than an occasional BSOD). So, we're going to have to try several different things.

Read the minidumps by following these instructions: WinDbg Analysis Report

First, Please update or remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager. Please use the following instructions to locate the most current drivers:
How To Find Updated Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- some driver links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

Here's the older drivers (I'm particularly concerned about the first 2):
Code:
lirsgt.sys Sat Mar 06 14:53:01 2004 - Tages copy protection system
RTSTOR64.SYS Tue Dec 02 01:01:40 2008 - Realtek Card reader
