Ok, so I bought a new motherboard (GigaByte z68X-ud5-b3) some new RAM and a new i7 2600k CPU and I went to reinstall the OEM windows 7 pro 64 bit I previously had installed on my old motherboard and CPU and RAM and the disc starts loading and after it shows on the white progress bar at the bottom 100% finished loading files my PC crashes I reconnected everything tried other graphics cards, RAM, power supply and same thing happens everytime  .. I tried running windows xp pro and it worked perfectly on my new system ... I ran the OEM OS installation disc on my old motherboard and it loads and everything works... Any help is greatly appreciated any further info needed just reply and ask.

Thanks in advance,
Zac

Hello zacGREATEST, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you mean OEM as in one sold as "System Builders" at places like Newegg it is only good to the first motherboard it was installed to and will not function on another mobo.

The Bare Foot Kid (yes it is a system builders OEM). Does that mean that the OS install DVD won't even run past loading file/windows starting area.?Does that mean that I have to buy another win 7 DVD to install on my new motherboard?
Thanx for the speedy reply and the welcome..
Zac

You may get it to install but I wouldn't count on getting it activated.

That's the problem with OEM (system builders) it's forever tied to the first mobo it's installed to.

Actually, the new Windows 7 EULA forbids private individuals from using OEM software, it's only to be used by builders that intend to sell the PC to someone else.

Yes Sir! But.....

MS doesnt really force the issue here. Had that been the case, OEM disks wouldnt have been freely available at reputed sellers like Newegg etc.

Oh I agree with you and Mr. Bott, it's a really sad way to treat loyal customers just wanting to do the right thing.
