Office 07/In Regedit/Can't find MachineThrottling?

Ok I have not been this frustrated in a long time-I know there is an issue installing 0ffice 2007 in Windows 7. I went into Regedit-went into LocalMachine-I found the Disabled Sessions Tab. However, there is no machinethrottling option to edit. The only thing showing under that tab is the default-see attached photo. I need to install Office 2007 for my MBA classes-Yes I can install Openoffice, but the Office Grammar checker is priceless for someone with ADD like me Anything I can do to fix this?

What issue do you have installing Office 2007 in Windows 7? I've installed it on three Windows 7 machines and haven't had a problem.

When I try to use the installer, it gets to the "preparing installation files" and then it crashes and says it is looking for a solution. I have tried everything including uninstaller programs, etc. Nothing works. Someone said this regedit may work, but I can't find the key that everyone is talking about, the "throttlingmachines" edit.

Where did you get your copy of Office 2007? Have you tried copying the files to the hard drive and then running the install?

Try installing/restalling as the Administrator.

Already tried running as an Admin and tried to install it in various XP compatibility modes.
Also installed all updates. This is an Acer Aspire 5630-4GB Ram. I may just have to bite the bullet and go Openoffice or buy something like Wordperfect temporarily. I don't have the time to really play with this stuff.

The two solutions I have seen-changing the on regedit key-see first post-I have not been able to do.

Where did you get your copy? Did you burn it yourself? Did you try copying to the hard drive and installing?

No it's a CD-Rom-I got it from my University back in 2007. I have tried transferring the contents to my hard drive-still not luck. I am not sure what else I can do.

Have you tried downloading the office trial and then using your existing key?

even if this key does not work it will at least give you 30 days to sort things out

Actually I think I have found the problem-Microsoft Enterprise 2007 in showing up on my installed programs list despite the fact I have used an uninstaller program and actually booted into Safe Mode and dragged everything out of there and into the recycler.
How do I uninstall the old installation??

The best way is to use the un-install option before you manually delete parts of the system.

Installed Office 2003-my friend had a copy. I will do a clean install of Windows 7 this weekend so I can install Office 2007.

Ok I am back at home. I did not have to reinstall anything on my desktop-Office 2007 works perfectly. I am still not sure how to get Office 2007 on my laptop without reintalling Windows 7? Anything else I am missing? Not sure if it is worth reinstalling-Office 2003 is pretty good.
