I have recently set up a new network and 4 desktops for a client. The server is running Windows Server 2008 and the desktops are all running Windows 7 with Office 2007. When ever the client goes to save a Word or Excel document to a network share, the applications takes 20-30 seconds to save the file...even very small files. Opening files is quick and other applications (database) are performing well.
I have read in other forums about poor performance when there are mapped drives that are no longer active. This is not my case as this is a brand new environment. Also, notepad and word pad do not have the same issue, it seems to be the way Office is interacting with the network. Any thoughts?
