Hi there,

at the moment i'm trying to install the sp2 for office 2010 64bit via windows update and it fails every time. During the installation it asks for the file ProPlusWW.msi and i'm pointing to the file in the x64-folder on the dvd. Shortly after that the installation quits with code 8024002D 'Unkown error in windows update' (see attachment).

PS: like the picture shows its a german installation

I hope somebody can help me

I also tried to install via downloading the sp2 (officesp2010-kb2687455-fullfile-x64-de-de.exe) but this fails also. The problem here is that it only shows a message box (Error during installation of the package.) without any code/error-number.

I took a look into the event logs in windows and in the application event log i found two entries. The first one with error 1706, necessary file could not be found...i think that was ProPlusWW.msi.

The second one with code 1603, sp2 could not be installed. I attached the referenced log-file from this entry.

Have you tried Uninstalling Office 2010 & then Reinstalling it. Which was one the suggestions listed in the website reference I gave you.

If do try the Unistall & Reinstall method, it is best to shut down & restart the computer after uninstalling before reinstalling
