Thinking on installing this on my PC and uninstalling 2007. But i need it for college so it cant have to many issues with it, now with a beta you may find minor issues which i can live with but i havn't heard many as of yet. How is yours going? any major bugs to worry about?

Your concern is legit. and wise. But, don't take the word of our experts, you can find out for yourself, and be sure. Take a system image, now of your HD. Then install, the new program. Use it and enjoy it, if not happy just restrore to the point that you took the image. Make sure you put the image in a safe place, not the same HD.

I haven't personally had any issues with the Public Beta of 2010. Back in the Technical Preview I had issues with Outlook but they are long gone

I'd say if you are legally licensed for 2007, and you need it for college...there probably isn't a good reason to load 2010. The changes aren't really that significant. If you want to play around with 2010 and see how it works, you might consider trying it within a virtual machine.

^^ dont worry m8. Outlook 2010 doesnt erase the settings. But one suggestion, do not upgrade. When you start the install, click on customize and select the option which says, remove outlook and install 2010.

Once 2010 installs, you are ready to go. Evrythn is automatic. Starting frm the rules, signatures, accounts and profiles. Everything is intact.

I would recommend sticking with 2007 for now. 2010 isn't mature enough yet. I tried installing the technical preview and it had quite a few bugs. When I went to uninstall it, I received an error and had to manually remove all the files and registry entries from a recovery disk.

There have been many improvements since the Technical Preview version... I have been using the Beta version since it was available on Technet and I couldn't be happier ... I would recommend this to anyone who asked....

My experiences are the same.....except I've had an issue with Outlook when it comes to email rules, probably me.

I use 2010 beta on both machines and would suggest it to others. I would add that I am a firm believer in backups, be it RTM software or beta. I have back ups of my backups - always practice safe computing.

I am using 64 bit version of office 2010 public beta (been using since the first leaked version). I think that is indeed much better then 2007. Most of the glitches solved and it is MUCH faster then 2007 in 32 bit.
keep in mind that I use very large files (200-300mb files), with 400K lines. I only have some issues with oulook, that never ends updating the messages folder, so eveything time I have to kill the app and restart and then everything works perfectly.
