office 2010 plus - problem

hi to all,

I have installed on my pc office 2007 ultimate version

i decide to reinstall this software and to install new version of office 2010 plus

after installation when i start office programs like word, excel, every time
i have this message

"preparing to install" and this install start

and after that word start, but this operation taka about 15-20 sec

does any of you have problem like this?

This is an unfortunate side effect of having both Office 2007 and 2010 installed. The system re-configures the inter-relationships between the suite application so that the 2007 apps are called by other 2007 apps.

The only way to prevent this is to completely remove all traces of office 2007, including add-ons prior to installing 2010.

what you suggest me to do, I try to deinstall all office 2007 and 2010 parts, but it's seams I didn't make it.

How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?

It is rather involved - so much so that I have in the past found it easier to completely re-install windows to be sure of success - this would depend on how much other work is involved, of course

HOWEVER...
Multiple versions of Outlook
Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 cannot coexist with any earlier version of Microsoft Outlook. When you install Outlook 2010, the Setup program removes Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, and Microsoft Outlook 2002. The Setup program removes these versions of Outlook even if you click to select the Keep these programs check box in the Removing Previous Versions dialog box.

Once you have uninstalled ALL microsoft Office instances (like BarMan has suggested), you can run CCleaner CCleaner - Download

It should remove enough of the registry keys to enable your next full installation of 2010 to successfully install.
