I'm getting these bios figured out: I think.

Nice one Jack, dont forget to press the Validate button and post a screenie mate. I know it's a little OTT, but the original rules of the thread were to show a validation shot + a link to the validation. I know your OC is genuine but we have to stick by the rules otherwise anyone cold just post a pic of something they found off the interweb like a 6GHz run or something lol. Hmmm that gives me an idea :roflmao:

No problem what so ever on my end.
I just wanted to show you folks the result with the temps.
Kind of like bragging about my new water cooling system. That's all.

I don't have any experience with Ivy E, I can only assume they need a lot more voltage than regular Ivy based on your Voltage Jack. I take it that is the lowest voltage you can run fully stable at 4.8?

At any rate temps are excellent.

I have the vcore set auto at this time. I really haven't had time to play with it but I will.

Yeah that will do mate, leaderboards updated.

If you have the voltage on auto then I will stick my neck out and say 100% it is far higher than it needs to be, most of us with 3770K i7's run in the 1.2 to 1.3s voltage wise for 4.8GHz, I expect your cpu won't be much different as it is still a quad core. I bet you could get away with 1.35V maybe lower. And your temps will come down more due to that.

You probably can if you keep working at it. Really it eventually comes down to the piece of silicone you have. If you know how to work the bios, everything else is up to what the CPU can do. And, they were not all created equal. LOL.

I going to look for a sweat spot I can use every day all day and run cool.
So far it's @4.662
1.28 vcore
100% load at avg. temp 48C.
My multiplier is at 37 and I don't know how to raise it in these new UEFI/BIOS.
I don't know what it's listed as.

On the Z77 boards it's listed as turbo ratio.

I don't know how the 2011's work, but on the regular Ivy, all you do it overclock the turbo. It still drops down to 1600 MHz while under litttle stress. When the CPU gets pushed, it jumps to turbo mode.

The only thing I find with (turbo) is the cooling fans.
This is UEFI and strange to me.

Correction: I found it and it sets on Turbo.

With the Ivy regular, almost all overclock settings are in the Asus Tweaking section of bios. Yours overclocks completely different than ours, You have a strap setting as they have seperated the FSB from everything. On the regular Ivy, FSB overclocks the CPU but the ram, GPU and hard drive too. They seperated that with the E chips and you have what they call a strap because of that. But, I don't know how it works. maybe someone with an E CPU will come along and help you. There are a few on here. At least, that's what I understand to be some of the differences. I may very well be wrong.

I am aware of that fact I think mine is pretty average so no magic will be performed on it.
Mehh either way I am content with the current clock .
This is (as of this time) the only platform I've overclocked on, but I like to think I
know how things work and I feel comfortable in the UEFI .

Hi Ladies and Gents. Not really into over clocking but since my wife's machine barfed I put my motherboard in her machine to save a major reinstall and configuration job I got myself a new motherboard and CPU to play with. See Specs. The machine is clocking the CPU @3.7 Ghz without doing anything. Anyone have any advice on how to tweak for maybe 4Ghz or so on all cores?

I must admit I missed your post when you originally posted it and only saw it yesterday. I didn't really make any connection to a joke as I was being a bit thick at the time. Once I looked at it again and saw the 2 parts you had highlighted in red it was really obvious and I felt like a right dumb ass :roflmao:
