Hey guys. I am alive once more after a bad bout of illness. I finally feel normal again today and the pain has all but gone

Some nice overclocks, very low voltage Bigtabs great job.

And well done on figuring out how to add the badge Tony lol.

Thanks Paul. Is it only one entry per person as I had 2 different machines I overclocked. An FX8320 and a Phenom 965BE?

I added the Phenom to the AMD tab and left the 8320 on the overall. If you score higher with the phenom, I will switch them

Yeah it has a few more cores too lol. But it doesn't have a keyboard like my trusty old laptop.

I have to run the laptop in permanent safe mode with networking. I think something is broke on it because as soon as I installed the graphics drivers the screen went funny and it was impossible to use but it's been doing just fine in safe mode for over a year. It's not a great laptop but it was free lol.

The main reason I use it is to do calculations for work. The specialist software I use only works on a 32Bit OS. It's very annoying as it would be much easier if I could use it on one of my normal PC's.

I know I could run XP mode or install a VM with 32bit Windows on it but that's a pain too.

I don't suppose there are any programs or anything that can allow software designed only for 32bit OS to run on 64Bit OS?

Sure. Xp is 32 bit only. that's XP mode or if you have a license, VMware is free and will run almost everything. You name it, it will run it. I have XP, Windows 8.1, about 4 Linux distros running in VMware, and it's free for personal use. Simple to set up and is no bother either. If you want to do it, let me know. BTW, is that specialist software are you running, Windows 2000?

Hi there,

Its now two full years i'm running that core i5 3570K and it had already reach TjM at 95°C/100°C during overclock sessions and is running everyday since day one at 4,2GHz to 4,3GHz. Warranty is void at the retailler shop but i think still on at Intel for a year.

Its an average core and i can see 10°C between Core#3 and Core#1.

My question is, is it worth i do delid that core i5???

I also readed that IHS is moving from its place while putting it back and lowering the lever which make the IHS slide down by the pressure of the load plate.

Thanks for the Guide link...i was aware at overclock.net of such discuss but not of such full Guide. Though i'm not registered at their forums i will dig that in a very cautious manner.

I might do it as my Core i5 K have too much (for me) disparity between some cores, at last but not least, since i found my temps with a watercooling loop are quite similar at idle load with my previous airflow, thought i can give it a go.

Also MSI seems to make for the 2011 socket a Delid Die Guard..does this exist for Lga 1155? At first search couldn't find it.

Thanks Non. I'm a member there and although it can take a lot of time, reading the posys in the thread will help you as much as the guide. You can learn the problems people had as well as some of the solutions. It is pretty Dangerous if not done exactly right. No, I never did mine as it was not necessary. But I had decided, before I bout the chip, if it was having heat problems I would try it.

It is comprehensive. It was written by some that have done it and messed up too. I didn't do mine, but had decide, before I bought it, that if it had a lot of heat problems I was going to try. But, I was lucky and got one that overclocked on real low voltage.

Those guys that messed up for us...deserve rep! It just my Core is not that bad but is not that good too and since it got already two years running thought it got nothing to loose to be delidded (carefully, of course).

As for the IB Oc'in Guide link , yes, i know it since i got my i5 K two years ago and took it as reference too, on some settings.
