Ok SSD time for me

Just in case you guys want to see a bench mark comparison between most brands of SSD's on the market I provided a link below.

With Synthetic bench marks the crucials win out but they cost more and have limited write speeds, also the real world tests don't show them to be any faster than other brands. I went with the GSkill Phoenix pro 128GB, the better price point and the three year warranty Gskill offers sold me.

Personally, I would choose one that has closer to symmetrical read/write speeds, even if means getting one that doesn't score as high in the benchmark overall. A SSD with a that scores 240 MB/s read and 160 MB/s write is probably going to be faster in practical, everyday use than one that hits 270 MB/s read but only 70 MB/s write

You know I haven't seen a real huge difference in day to day tasks. My workstation laptop from work has an ssd and compared to my home desktop which has a raptor the performance difference seems negligible. I can only assume I'm not really doing anything to task the laptop to see the difference.

IMHO, the Seq. Read & Writes mean little to nothing in real world use.

Its all about the 4Ks and access time.

Or at least certainly seems that way to me.

Absolutely true for now where the SSD is practically always used for the OS. In future days when large SSDs become affordable and will be used like todays HDDs, the Read/Write speeds will gain more importance.

Well in the end I went for a Corsair one.

It seemed around the same spec as the OCZ one , but a little cheaper and I could get it delivered when I wanted.

Wow is all I can say!

What an amazing difference from my old HDD

The whole system just feels totally different and very crisp.

Here are a couple of shots , not sure if they are what its supposed to score or not , but the access time is awesome. My old HDD had an access time of 18.7 lol.
