I use Media Center Netflix which uses Silverlight "Isolated Storage" to buffer streaming data.
Win7 Isolated Storage is located at C:\Users\Tom\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Silverlight\is
My C Drive is an SSD so I don't want streaming data buffering to be happening there, reducing the life of the SSD.

I checked properties on all the folders starting with "is" and there is not a Location tab until "LocalLow"
If I change the location of C:\Users\Tom\AppData\LocalLow to my secondary hard-drive, will this cause problems (other than some slow-down)?

People worry to much about SSD life. Yes they do have a limited life, but you're going to replace it due to obsolescence long before it wears out due to use. But to get to your question, no it "probably" wouldn't hurt if you did it correctly, but I wouldn't risk it. There are hidden directory junctions linking to locations in AppData\LocalLow which might cause problems if you don't fix them, and then you need to edit all registry entries that point to the old AppData\LocalLow to the new location. If you're that worried about it, it would be a lot easier to just move the Silverlight directory somewhere and create a junction to it.

Edit: Good read on SSD durability: The Tech Report's SSD Endurance Test

I've seen enough problems with moving AppData files that I would only ever move your active User folders (Docs, Pics, Downloads, etc) to save space. Moving any more of the full User profile has multiple unintended consequences.

Thanks, I'll leave it alone
