Hey there. I'm trying to install this old game that ran on Windows 95/98. The problem is that it's incompatible with my 64-bit Windows 7, so despite running the installer using Compatibility Mode, it still doesn't work. Is there any way to get it to work?

well, if you have a compatible 7 version, you can try xp mode, it might work for the older games

Nah, I've only got Home Premium, so it won't let me use XP Mode.

yea, then you really can't run those games anymore. Windows 7 has no support for 16 bit games (most 98 games) while xp does/did. can't really help you, sorry.

You could try using VMware and installing XP on that. You might even be able to install 98 if you have a copy. I don't really know much about it, but a lot of people on here use it. If you have any problems with it, we have a section of the site for that kind of thing.

Provided your processor supports virtualization. What processor do you have?

Free Route - Sun Virtual Box + Linux + Wine = GamePlay : ) The speed of those old games probably won't be affected.

Not Free Route - Sun Virtual Box + XP = Gameplay. Easiest way to do it short of going back to XP

DosBox will work for most DOS games
