Old XP laptop with 7, but is it legit?

I just realized I posted this in the Installation section, if an Admin wants to delete that please feel free.

I picked up an old (probably from 2007) dell latitude from a guy who was an IT worker at one of the local offices for free. The sticker says built for xp, but he has 7 on it, which doesn't necessarily mean it's not legit, but you never know. The easiest thing to do is call up Microsoft and give them that 25 character "Product Key" (begins with ***** in your paste) and see what they say.

just go open the properties windows and then scroll down to the section that says Windows activation and it says if its activated then you are good

If there's a COA sticker for Windows 7 Home Premium on it, then it's legal - it'll be inside the battery compartment.

This machine is from 2010, according to the BIOS (not 2006/7)
