Well I've just come back from a few days away.

Just tried to ring someone on skype and as soon as the video loaded up the screen went blank and I got the same kernal message as before (to get Skype to work again I had to quit the program and start it again.). Its exactly the same as wmp.

Can you recommend a gfx card (cost effective option)?? Don't use the pc for gaming just general home use with the odd video??

Just found out my motherboard has 3 years warranty do you think it is worth contacting asus or where I got it from??

Well it's taken me 6 weeks to delve further into this and Asus have asked me to reinstall my operating system before they will go any further. Not sure if that will make any difference but I will give it a try this weekend

One quick question I have is:

I bought the PC from MESH computers which had a recovery partition installed (although that was vista). How do I delete that when I reinstall windows 7?

I've been looking at it today but I've confused myself with it.

I've got a windows 7 Upgrade disc (bought pc with vista, then they sent me the upgrade disc out shortly after). Going to do it tonight.

What do you think the best way to do it it.

Stick the disc in
delete partitions under custom setting
Set installation away

Do I need to formate the HD before I do all of that?
