When i tap the volume buttons on my keyboard, the volume changes, but i do not see any visual representation of the change.

I've done some research and found it is related to HP MediaSmart, a media player that i uninstalled a couple months ago (thought it was bloatware).

I don't really want the player installed again, it's a waste of space. I only want the On-Screen visual that appeared during a volume change, are there any programs/drivers that do just that??

Cute bug you have in the lower right corner.

I use a Microsoft USB keyboard with Volume Control keys on my Custom-built computer, once in awhile I'll get a horizontal green bar showing progress but the most consistent indicator is the X when muting. Two other clues are clicking the speaker and watching the vertical slider move and watching the curved bars on the right side of the speaker icon in the Notification Area.
