Onedrive now 15GB

That's probably a good thing, but I am not convinced that I want to store my "stuff" someplace out of my control. Pro's / Con's appreciated. IF you use it why, if not why.

Hi I do use it,
I can't imagine storing that much stuff there I was grandfathered with 25 gig's
Using it as a simple site to go to and manually upload is the way I personally use it,
Others get into the Onedrive desktop stuff with auto sync... with the folders they put in the onedrive folder,

Otherwise my verdict is it's pretty cool/ Advertising free and allows Original size files to be uploaded or you can compress files on upload but I prefer doing originals

I find it really convenient and have had no problems in several years of using OneDrive to Sync, Backup and Store your Files to the Cloud with Onedrive - Windows 7 Forums

I also back up to external so the cloud is mainly for sync'ing and access to my user folders from anywhere. This is a great convenience.

I still need to write it as a tutorial. But Windows 8 complicates things since its integrated in a different way there and I've not got time to mess with it now.

When I get back from traveling around Oct I'll reinstall Windows 8 with Kari's guidance and see if it really has changed to where it's tolerable enough to support. Meanwhile Win7 keeps on growing in popularity.

A small USB or micro sdHC card with 64GB is far more convenient and is ALWAYS available whether you are on the internet or not. Incidentally you CAN store Windows files on an SDHC card on a phone so if you've got some data you KNOW you will need simply keep it on the phone -- even if the phone battery goes dead you can swap out the micro sdHC card and put it into the computer -- those adapters for sd==>micro sdhc work fine and typical laptops have an integrated reader. Otherwise transfer file with a thing like ES file explorer (android app) to copy files between phone and computer wirelessly.

I'm not a fan of "Cloud Cuckoo Land".

One good thing about onedrive sync,
You never have to worry about forgetting to pack the flash drives or other portable storage devices,
Which I have done on occasion Oops

I believe so I'm not completely sure what it is beside different level of sharing files which is pretty private or public depending on the folders share attributes you set when you create the folders,
Everything you would sync I would guess it would be private for your own login user name and password for onedrive.com's email address,
Which you'd use the same login from different computers and or locations anywhere in the world,

They have Onedrive apps for all cell phones with internet capabilities as well,

I'd say DropBox would be the other most popular cloud service provider,
I like Microsoft services though for less possible clashes with windows,

Yes, MS has no history of trying to glean consumer shopping habits from data in email or files which are stored the same way in OneDrive. Compared to Chrome or any other installed or signed-into Google program/app which is pernicious spyware, IE and other MS applications align more with Firefox or Opera in terms of intrusiveness.

These things can't really be hidden, so we would have heard by now and I've heard nothing about MS spying on data at all of the public at large. I feel completely comfortable although I do zip my private financial data and papers into 7Zip passworded archives as a habit, but more for who might be looking at my PC when I'm not around.
