Hi,
I was researching an annoying slowness/stalling/not responding issue and came across this* thread on your forum which has a very similar error code list [Event Properties - Event 7026 Service Control Manager] as one of mine:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AFD
aswRdr

The OP never responded as to what resulted, and I'm hoping to get some guidance on how to resolve this problem. I lost a file recently when it wouldn't save to a flash drive it had been kept on for quite some time, and don't want to risk other incidents. Not sure they're related, but the whole system's been sketchy lately.

Thanks

Thanks for your response. I ran the sfc twice and found nothing. So far I haven't located the startup repair option or even a System Restore Menu [other than Control Panel's] on the HD or booting from the Asus Windows disk.
The only option from the book disk seems to be complete restoration to HD. No startup repair.

I finally got the menu to come up, ran the startup repair option, and get:
AutoChk Run = 0
Number of root causes = 1
on the C drive. No other error codes appear.

I'm going to try chkdsk /f/r

Chdsk found nothing.
Anyone have a suggestion?
This root causes = 1 report seems fairly common. Can someone advise?

Thanks
